About Me
Why did I start Naturally Photography?
Well, my love of nature started at a very young age. As a little girl, probably around five, I remember watching Marty Stouffer's Wild America on TV with my dad, just soaking up all the amazing beauty of nature caught on film. As a family my mom, dad, and I would go camping, hiking, and canoeing together every chance we had. My dad had a manual SLR Nikon and Pentax that he carried around with him in an amo box on all of our trips. (If you knew my dad you would know that this suits him perfectly.) Then, when I got to high school I took photography 1, 2, 3 & 4 with those very cameras. (I find this a little ironic because now if a high school student brought an amo box into school they would probably be expelled.) When I went to college at Missouri State University, I received a degree in Wildlife Conservation, pretty fitting when you consider my up-bringing, don't you think.
You see my parents instilled a love for nature and photography in me that I want to share with the world. I want people to see the beauty of nature that I see, and in-turn be inspired to preserve it for the next generation. I believe the best way for me to do this is through my passion for photography. In 2009 my husband and I became parents, and I quit my job to stay home with our daughter. She has motivated me to live my dream, and she is the reason I had the opportunity to start my own nature photography business, Naturally Photography.
